Million Mile Month: April 2022

The Healthcode.org Million Mile Month for April 2022 is nearly over with just one more day left to hit the goal that each member set. Community-wide the total is 558,448 miles as of April 29, 2022.

This pedometer geek met the goal I set earlier this week, and to date, I have walked 115.6 miles this month. With one day to go, I can only add to my total; however, the Million Mile Month Challenge is going to continue in May. As will I, with a goal of 120 miles.

With another month to complete the million miles, it will happen especially if like-minded people join in. Check out the site, http://www.healthcode.com, and pick a goal and then get out there and move. There are plenty of options (walking, biking, etc.) and the donations help sponsor children to participate, too.

About pedometergeek

A pharmacist by profession, a haiku poet by nature, I read and write. I have a book of haiku, Ohayo Haiku, and another somewhat alternative haiku book, Three Breaths, but write other genres. I also read...lots of novels! My favorite is, and remains, Ayn Rand's Atlas Shrugged but I am also a big Harry Potter fan. I truly am a pedometer geek strapping on my pedometer as soon as I awaken.

    • Thanks, Jules. Yesterday was a monumental day with over 6 miles, and today will easily exceed 4 miles as I am already close to that. Next Tuesday will find me putting on a few miles too as I will be working the election.

Take it easy and have a great weekend.

I did about 6 miles yesterday (with two walks and some gardening). But I’m not keeping track so much anymore as with ‘him’ being retired and we aren’t on the rewards program anymore.

        Keep up the good work.

  3. Well, I have to admit I don’t keep my Excel spreadsheets like I used to, but I do try to monitor my steps regularly. We did a citywide cleanup of trash yesterday. The local park and a nearby beach so that’s why I knew I had over four miles early on.
