BP: Haiku Dialogue (Opposites Attract, Night/Day)

This week the Haiku Foundation’s weekly column, Haiku Dialogue edited by K.J. Munro, was a continuation of the theme that opposites attract. The prompt was night/day, and according to K.J. it had one of the highest number of submissions she had ever seen. While she commented on a few of them, she kept her remarks relatively short to allow more entries. This pedometer geek was pleased that she chose to publish one of my haiku. It was a haiku that was written a couple years ago, and it is as follows:

solar eclipse…

crescent moon shadows

on the pavement

~Nancy Brady, 2020

To read all the haiku with the theme day/night, check out http://www.thehaikufoundation.org on the Troutswirl page under Haiku Dialogue. If interested in submitting a haiku or two for next week’s prompt on above/below, that must be done by midnight Saturday September 5.

About pedometergeek

A pharmacist by profession, a haiku poet by nature, I read and write. I have a book of haiku, Ohayo Haiku, and another somewhat alternative haiku book, Three Breaths, but write other genres. I also read...lots of novels! My favorite is, and remains, Ayn Rand's Atlas Shrugged but I am also a big Harry Potter fan. I truly am a pedometer geek strapping on my pedometer as soon as I awaken.

Very nice. Out of town for a long – shore weekend. Last night the waning (Full from the Sept 2) was a bright read orange! Ant this morning with the sunrise … the silver moon was still in the sky around 6:30 am. πŸ˜€

  2. Thanks, JP. Have a great weekend. I missed the moon last night; just saw its reflection on our garage door as I was locking up the back door last night. I guess I should have looked out the front as it sounds gorgeous.

If there aren’t any clouds I try and spot the moon at least once a night πŸ™‚
I’m not great with constellations but I finally found an image maybe will help me remember how to find the North Star, both dippers Ursa major and minor I think the smaller one from the squarish bowl and the larger handle both point to Polaris!

Just wanted you to know I read your CR post… but you might not get any feedback because WP is mucking up again. You might want to post it here with a link?

WP is doing something strange (yet again). Notifications in the Dashboard are not coming through (just getting that ‘working arc circles’ symbols. So leaving likes will not be seen. Nor will any comments you leave on someone else’s post at a prompt site. The only thing that is coming through is comments on the main post site (which also shows up in the owners’ email in email). For example if someone left a comment in the Carrot Ranch post prompt for me at my comment entry there – I will not get it unless I go to the Carrot Ranch post and hunt it down. So one might consider, if able to visit site posts via ping backs or links. If you only post something in the comments section at a prompt site you might not get notified that it is there.

    • Yeah, thanks for the information. I appreciate that. I did notice your comment over at CR about the snafus with the blog. I hesitate to post my entry here. I must admit that I played around with my poem (adding a few words to make it 99 words) so it doesn’t seem original., and I think I even posted it on my blog a few months ago. Yes, I cheated a bit by not writing a whole new 99-word FF. I planned on writing about Lake Erie’s high winds effects..
