Million Mile Month: Week 3

With the end of the third week of April, this pedometer geek has completed over 90% of the goal of 100 miles chosen in HealthCode.org’s Million Mile Month challenge. This challenge attracts a community of runners, walkers, bicyclists, swimmers, and more, by the way.

This pedometer geek hopes to complete the 100 miles in a few days, and then add to the community’s total toward the million (with an M) miles. Will the goal be met? There is still time to join up. Just check out the website for details on how to become a member of this international community.

About pedometergeek

A pharmacist by profession, a haiku poet by nature, I read and write. I have a book of haiku, Ohayo Haiku, and another somewhat alternative haiku book, Three Breaths, but write other genres. I also read...lots of novels! My favorite is, and remains, Ayn Rand's Atlas Shrugged but I am also a big Harry Potter fan. I truly am a pedometer geek strapping on my pedometer as soon as I awaken.

    Sounds like you are going to be a wonderful success!
    Just attempted to take my bike for its first spin around the block yesterday eve.
    Even with the counter at my ankle…one doesn’t gather as many ‘steps’ though distance goes by quicker 🙂

    • Thanks, Jules…I think I can manage the last few miles.

      I haven’t mounted my bicycle yet although Rob has kept up his bicycle riding throughout the winter months if above 40 degrees. He wouldn’t ride far, maybe just around the block, but he was willing to keep active. Maybe next week after I complete my challenge…

  3. Well, I am blessed, Jules…our city’s library is about a block and a half from my house. I walk down there nearly every day.

    I don’t have a device to measure my steps or it would add up swiftly …

        well done, so that’s work home plus exercise … you must be fit!
        I have no idea how much I do but I’ve got a long steep climb just to my car and cart everything up and down, including water … so that’s another degree of fitness without gym bills 🙂
