The Million Mile Month organization, Healthcode.org, is having another event. In July, it is a triathlon, but participants don’t have to do the typical running, biking, and swimming that most people associate with triathlons; they can choose several other options including, but not limited to, gardening and yoga. It isn’t even necessary to do three different activities. The goal is also self-directed; participants can choose how aggressive a goal they wish to pursue.
This pedometer geek, or as a change-up, urban hiker, will be focusing on walking. Although there may be a few miles of the goal other than walking that will contribute to the total, most will logged as steps. The goal this urban hiker chose was one hundred miles.
As of the end of the first week, more than thirty-five miles have been logged of the hundred mile goal. With three weeks to go, this urban hiker is hoping to exceed the goal.
Despite a week in, participants are still welcomed so consider adding your name to the list and get moving. It is all about staying healthy. @HealthcodeIAM
